Postpartum Expectations
Whether we are already basking in the glow of newborn snuggles (also sleep deprivation to the max) or we are in the start, middle or nearing the end of our pregnancy, understanding where our bodies are at and being aware of the rebuilding timeline is key to our recovery.
Can we really boost our metabolism as we age?
A slowing metabolism is unavoidable as it’s due to age, genetics, gender but it doesn’t mean we can’t do something about it.
Muscle needs to be our priority ladies.
I cannot stress how important muscle is as we get older and although my brain still thinks I’m 21 my body is very aware I am not. Aging is a part of life but it’s up to us RIGHT NOW to make those changes to our muscle now so we can live more in the future.
N.E.A.T and Nutrition
NEAT means Non Exercise Adaptive Thermogenesis and it is the energy that is used for everything that we do. While going to the gym (of course!) is great it contributes a small percentage to your total energy expenditure in a day whereas as NEAT can add up to 50% of your energy expenditure.
